RAMS participates in AussieDex Trial

  Retinal and Macular Specialists are participating in the Aussiedex trial. This trial is a multicentre, open-label, prospective, Phase 4 study assessing the efficacy and side effects off intravitreal Ozurdex for the treatment of diabetic macular oedema in pseudophakic patients. Ozurdex is a long-lasting dexamethasone implant, that in this study is given up to every 4 months. Patients can be treatment naive, or have failed treatment with anti-VEGF therapy. In July this year Dr Michael Chilov spoke at the prestigious MidWest Ocular Angiography Conference (MOAC) held in Hawaii, USA. He presented on acute idiopathic maculopathy and subretinal deposits in ocular lymphoma. Dr Fung & Dr Chilov speak at International Conferences

In July this year Dr Adrian Fung and Dr Michael Chilov spoke at the prestigious MidWest Ocular Angiography Conference (MOAC) held in Budapest, Hungary. Dr Fung spoke on Alports Syndrome and Vasoproliferative Tumour. Dr Chilov presented on the rare condition Acute Exudative Polymorphous Vitelliform Maculopathy and MEK inhibitor maculopathy. Both talks were well received. Dr Adrian Fung Volunteers in Laos

Between 5-10 January this year Dr Adrian Fung spent one week volunteering at the Ophthalmology Centre in the capital of Laos, Vientiane. Invited by the Sight for All Foundation (http://sightforall.org), he was able to train local ophthalmologists. Each morning was spent examining challenging cases brought in from all around the country before teaching surgery and laser, whilst afternoons were reserved for lecturing on topics including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and retinal vascular occlusions.…

Dr Adrian Fung & Dr Michael Chilov speak at AONA

On November 29 Dr Adrian Fung and Dr Michael Chilov were invited to speak at the Australian Ophthalmic Nurses Association (AONA) Clinical Day at Liverpool Eye Surgery. Dr Fung presented an update on vitreo-retinal surgery, showing videos of modern vitrectomy techniques. Dr Chilov spoke on the controversies of the indications and techniques of intravitreal injections. The nurses who attended found this day highly educational and entertaining.
